Bangkok Trip Day 1 - Arrival & ShoppingAfter all the planning & arrangements, we finally embark to Bangkok. Its my second time but his first trip to BKK. Sooo..exciting. We got really good deals for both the hotel & the flight...both amounting to $500+ for both. Of coz we didnt take the best flight nor sleep in the most high end hotel coz' our ultimate plan is to unwind & shop like nobody's business. Its my first time on board a budget airline, though. I reckon..short trips on board a budget flight is fine but longer ones will leave you with really stiff neck. The seats are real crampy but i wouldn't mind taking it again. We took the morning flight & so the view from right above was crystal clear & breathtaking.
Managed to steal some time at the Airport to blog & FB a little..Hee! We reach at approximately 9.15am. We were a little delayed coz apparently one of the cabin crew was on last minute MC so we were all waiting for the replacement. I guess this is what they meant by you get what you pay. We were early for the check-in(Baiyoke Boutique Hotel) so we went up to Baiyoke Sky to have our buffet lunch...seriously, the food suck! But i must say i was blown away by the view from up there. We have a bird eye view on the streets of Bangkok & it was jam pack...the city look extremely busy.

We freshen up before heading straight to shop. I love the hotel...small though. It very well furnished for a boutique hotel & its got an artistic taste to it. Love the colour of my room..
Hot Pink!!

He had to steal my chocolate while waiting for me to be ready. Dang!

We shopped at the streets near Siam Centre(opposite MBK)...we didnt want to start off at MBK coz its uber big & it probably require at least 3/4 of the day to complete. I thought shopping at the streets near Siam Centre is better...stalls there are like those u see in Bugis Village but fashion there, are like Far East...uber fashionable..vintage stuff & glam dresses. Price ranging from $15-$35. Baby bought a t-shirt for only s$15..dirrrrrrrt cheap! That same tee would have cost him s$30 in Far East. And i bought my first 2 pairs of heels for less than $30 altogether. That's even cheaper than shoes from Mondo. Damn!
After which we had some local food for dinner & headed back to the hotel via MRT. We like how the fare card & the whole entry system look so old school. They do have ez-link like tap cards for the locals there. When we reach our station, we realised we have walk quite a distance before reaching our hotel. Kinda inaccessible...about 15mins walk? Imagine shopping for almost half a day & having to walk back..dread the hell outta us.
That's it, we thought! No more train rides...we either travel by tutu or taxi. But it was a nice experience taking the train though~
